Roles Open Description

Eleanor/Bizarbra: A teenage girl coming of age in an unknown world. More edge than ingenue. Great comic timing with an innocent sarcasm. (Hillary Duff & Mandy Moore) vocal range: pop/rock belt to E flat

Eleanor's Mother/Diva: 30-50. A true Diva role, must have tremendous pipes and comic timing. (Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle) vocal range: pop/soul belt to D

Space Punk: late teens-early 20ís. The hero, captain of the StarmiteZ, and the heart throb of the Universe. Rock Tenor (Justin Timberlake with a Motley Crue twist) vocal range: pop/grunge belt to B flat

Shak Graa: 20ís-early 30ís. High Priest Of Chaos, determined to destroy both Earth and Innerspace. Also plays Trinkulus a reptilian minstrel, once slave to Shak Graa now serving as guide to the Starmites. Puppet skills a plus but not necessary. (Marilyn Manson sings Andrea Botticelli) vocal range: skilled cartoon falsetto voice over for "Trink", legit/heavy-metal to high D for "Shak". Must be willing to take healthy vocal risks.

The Starmites: late teens-early 20ís. Boy band-esque space youths dedicated to fighting the deadly forces of the Universe. Energetic acrobatics a plus, able to sing tight harmonies (Nísync & Backstreet Boys) Vocal range: Pop tenors. Need one high pop/rock falsetto.

The Banshees: late teenís Ėearly 20ís. Tight-bodied sexy multi-ethnic female performers to play Amazonian bombshells, and henchwomen to Diva. The next big thang. (Destinyís Child, Christina Aguilera ala "Moulin Rouge") vocal range: Pop/gospel mezzoís to B flat.

Also seeking Blue Man Group type performers for very featured in-development ensemble and covers.

We'd like to invite you to an extraordinary evening of entertainment. Mathew Morrison ("Hairspray"), Mandy Gonzales ("Dance Of the Vampires"), Doug Storm ("Batboy" and "Vampires"), Joye Ross (Dance Of The Vampires), John Hill (Hairspray), Tyler Maynard (Mamma Mia), Kim Cea (MAC Award Winner, Smokey Joes Cafe), Alaina Reed (TV's "227," and "Sesame Street"), and a phenomenally talented group of Broadway veterans will be performing songs and scenes from the new musical STARMITEz--based on the original 'STARMITES', first produced on Broadway in 1989, but now totally rewritten and reborn.

STARMITEz creates an outrageous mix of Pop Broadway, Hip Hop, Boy Bands, Girl Groups, and Rap while conjuring up the sci fi worlds of Spielberg and Lucas, with a touch of inspiration from J.R.R Tolkein and C.S. Lewis.

STARMITEz tells the story of Eleanor, a rebellious and reclusive teenager who is mysteriously thrust into the Website World of favorite comic book. In Innerspace, she discovers that she is the legendary Milady, a teen superhero who must team up with the Starmites to save the Universe from the forces of evil. Standing in her way are a colorful assortment of Bowie-esque villains including the delightfully flamboyant Diva, the Queen of Innerspace and her Banshee warriors--Destiny's Child-ish sirens with a ravenous hunger for Boy Bands. With the help of hip-hop heartthrob Space Punk, Eleanor ultimately finds her strength within and defeats her foes.

Jim Steinman and Mary Keil are presenting this STARMITEz (P)REVUE at Don't Tell Mama's 343 West 46th Street (Restaurant Row) NYC (between 8th and 9th Avenues.) MONDAYS March 17th, 24th, and 31st at 9PM.
